Pack a picnic and head up Orrest Head, highlighted by fellwalker and author, Alfred Wainwright, for breathtaking views across Lake Windermere, or meander down the Lake on the Windermere Steamer to Lakeside and enjoy the Aquarium of the Lakes, and the Haverthwaite and Lakeside Steam Railway. The Old Laundry Theatre has a variety of productions during the year and there is the Royalty cinema at Bowness for a rainy day!
