The communication with the owner before our arrival was excellent - we were provided with detailed instructions on appliances etc and lots of suggestions for things to do whilst in Windermere. The house was clean, spacious and well-equipped but its best selling point was the location. It is literally 30 seconds from the main street and it took less than a minute to walk to the bus stops and less than 10 minutes to get to the railway station. Despite this the street itself was very quiet and peaceful. We’d very happily recommend Fairoak and would stay there again if returning to Windermere.

The house was very well equipped and to a high standard. It was convenient to be able to walk to the town in a few minutes. It was a bonus to be able to park the car at the rear of property. Gillian

"A spacious and comfortable accommodation with good facilities, close to main shops, pubs and rail/bus station."
All the rooms are well proportioned and the kitchen has full facilities. Excellent communications from the owner who responded to any questions without delay. Nothing would put me off booking this property again.

Had a great week in The Lakes at this lovely, clean cottage. Lots of space for the 4 of us. Excellent central location, very close to shops, supermarkets, bars and take aways and added bonus of a parking space. Sarah, the owner, was prompt at replying to emails and sent detailed information. Great links to public transport. Visited Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead via the ferry, walked into Bowness several times, walked up to Orrest Head to see the sunset, saw waterfalls and hired a canoe at Derwent Water. All in all a great week, would recommend as an ideal base.

We have had a wonderful week! Our first holiday since the covid19 lockdowns, and we couldn’t have chosen a better destination. The house was exactly what we wanted and well-equipped, Sarah went out of her way to ensure that everything was as good as it could be for us, and to have somewhere so handy for the town (it’s a two-minute, casual stroll from busy Windermere centre) yet so quiet was a bonus. Little Noah loved to run through the house and to look out of the window into the street, and the town itself is lovely. We took in the exhibition about the Windermere Project of the late `940s (Google it – it’s an amazing story), and the visit of the week for all of us was The World of Beatrix Potter, which exceeded expectations. The perfect end to our covid containment!

First time in the Lake District and well worth the trip. Fantastic Cottage, great location for walks, eating out and sight seeing. Everything you need in the cottage, well equipped kitchen and cosy. Would definitely return, great communication with Sarah, Thank you

Fantastic location in the centre of Windermere. Extremely well equipped kitchen and cleanliness throughout the property. Easy communication with the owner prior to arrival and prompt replies to queries.

Great place to stay, lovely and warm indoors aftera day out in the wet weather. Very well located for shops and bus route. We recommend a visit to the Windermere Jetty Steam boat Museum. Thank you very much

We enjoyed lots of walking and exploring, we enjoyed some places nearby and some further afield. If you don't mind driving for a great meal - try The Brown Horse an Winster, we would definitly recommend
